The São Francisco Valley is an area that has received investments in irrigation since 1970 because it is an important producer of fruits and vegetables, becoming, in recent years, the largest exporter of fruits in Brazil. Its production is exported through petrolina international airport and the port of Suape, both in Pernambuco. Every week, several direct flights to Europe leave on cargo planes with products that supply the old world.
