
The Department of Agricultural Defense of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Map) put in public consultation on Friday (10), for 60 days, the proposal of Normative Instruction (IN) for regulation of the use of remotely piloted aircraft (RPA), better known as drones, in agricultural activities.
Drones have occupied more and more space in agriculture and livestock. They are versatile, being can perform various functions, varying according to model and embedded technologies. Among the activities that can be performed with drones, stand out topography, imaging, crop monitoring, planting, application of agricultural pesticides, among others.
The standards should be applied for drones belonging to classes 2 (from more than 25 kg up to 150 kg of total weight) and 3 (up to 25 kg of total weight), intended for the application of pesticides, adjuvants, fertilizers, inoculants, correctives and seeds.
By the proposal, the Normative Instruction should provide for the registration of operators who use RPA in agriculture, encompassing qualified technical staff, with pilots with remote agricultural pilot course and technical responsible to coordinate activities. The requirements of aircraft and equipment and the waste disposal plan should also be provided for; the registration of educational entities to teach a remote agricultural pilot course; operational and operational safety requirements, involving safety to operators and minimum distances to be respected in applications.
