“We want to benefit all segments, but without a doubt the small farmer, from Pronaf, is fundamental, because Caixa is the bank for all Brazilians, especially the most humble ones”, highlighted the president.The resources are available for funding, commercialization, industrialization and also for investment.
Minister Tereza Cristina celebrated the fact that Caixa is increasingly entering the agricultural sector. “It is another bank with agility and capillarity to lend to farmers and ranchers. The sector is working more and more, but the crucial point to keep growing is credit, especially for small producers ”.
Guimarães said that Caixa's loan portfolio for agri has already increased four times since the beginning of the government, and the goal is to reach R $ 40 billion by the end of 2022, which will represent a tenfold increase in the cash portfolio in the agricultural sector at the beginning of management.
The rates for Pronaf producers are 2.75% per year, for Pronamp are 4% per year and other producers at 5% per year.
The bank also announced today that it will open 21 units specialized in serving agribusiness. Each of them will have a structure and team dedicated to the exclusive service of rural producers.
Pedro Guimarães informed that Carreta do Agro will cover 20 cities in the first half of 2021. The cart is an itinerant event in which a truck-agency specialized in agribusiness visits strategic cities, or events and fairs, to hold technical meetings, serve customers and sign contracts.
