According to a publication in the Official Gazette, the intention is for the group to subsidize Minister Tereza Cristina with information for decision-making
According to the text of the ordinance, the group's activities will aim to assist the Minister of Agriculture, Tereza Cristina, in decision-making during the public emergency period resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic. The group will act for the period in which the measures to deal with the public health emergency are in force.
The responsibilities of CC-AGRO-COVID19 are: to analyze production, the market, infrastructure, society's perceptions and agricultural products; analyze scenarios and produce diagnostics to support the management of the Ministry of Agriculture; analyze and monitor issues with potential risk, prevent the occurrence of crises and articulate their management, in the event of a serious and imminent threat to the supply of agricultural products and inputs; and propose actions that contribute to maintaining the supply of the Brazilian population.
The committee will act on monitoring and forwarding short-term solutions; and in medium / long term structural adjustment solutions.
