This Tuesday (23), the family farmers of the Agricultural and Forestry Cooperative of the Reca Project made a new delivery of food to Sesc Mesa Brasil in Porto Velho. Approximately 62.5 tonnes of products from 52 small farmers will receive support from the National Supply Company (Conab) for sale through the Food Acquisition Program (PAA).
In the initiative, Conab invests approximately R $ 285.58 thousand. The resource guarantees the donation of farmers' production to reinforce the food of more than 8 thousand people in a situation of food insecurity served by Sesc in the capital of Rondonia.
Three other family farming organizations will also donate 66,500 pounds of food, such as fruits and vegetables, to institutions in Rondônia's social assistance network. More than 40 small producers will receive a total support of R $ 303.7 thousand. The resources are released as the delivery of the products is confirmed. Thus, 14,500 people in a situation of nutritional insecurity will have a reinforcement in their diet.
The PAA projects being executed in the state were approved in 2020 by Conab, and the start of operations was celebrated in a ceremony that took place last week, at Sesc in Porto Velho.
