The system approach is a program that aims to meet the requirements of the foreign market regarding the presence of fruit flies, one of the greatest threats to fruit growing worldwide by reaching various types and varieties of fruits, representing the biggest bottleneck to exports of fresh fruits. "But other cultivation practices, such as disease control and other insect pests, are fundamental for obtaining a quality final product, export type, that meets the rules established by the countries importing fresh fruits," explains entomologist Antonio Nascimento.
