According to employees of Hortifruti /Cepea, the supply is expected to remain low at least until the end of July, still due to quality problems caused by precipitation in the first months of the year. From August, local grapes should have higher quality, since the humidity in the parreirais should be lower. Thus, the volume harvested should gradually increase until reaching the peak of production, from the first half of September.
It is worth mentioning that the export window of the second half usually begins in September, and, in view of the dollar valued against the Real, good volumes are expected to be sent abroad. However, competition with Greek grapes can be fierce, as the reduction in the number of tourists in the country due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus tends to increase the insertion of Greek grapes in other European destinations.
