It was published on Wednesday (15) Normative Instruction (IN) No. 61, which establishes the rules on definitions, requirements, specifications, guarantees, tolerances, registration, packaging and labeling of organic fertilizers and biofertilizers, intended for agriculture.
The standard seeks to adapt and improve the legal device for the granting of records of organic fertilizers and biofertilizers and establish faster and more efficient procedures, as well as include parameters appropriate to the technological changes of recent years.
With regard to biofertilizer records, due to the fact that several products have been developed and introduced into the crops, we highlight the improvement of the definition of parameters in the legislation, such as the possibility of declaring humic and fuvic acids, amino acids, plant extracts and algae extracts, in certain minimum quantities, which ensure agronomic efficiency and improvement in management to achieve quality of the products and foods in which they will be used , bringing benefits to farmers users of these special products.
In addition, the standard makes the adequacy of various standards of organomineral fertilizers, making the legal instrument more suitable for the registration of products, in addition to objectivity and clarity for consumers of these fertilizers.
"According to information from the Brazilian Association of Plant Nutrition Technology (Abisolo), organic fertilizers, organominerals, biofertilizers and special fertilizers had a turnover of R$ 7.6 billion in 2018, comprising a universe of 504 companies registered with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, which employ about 20,000 workers directly", highlights the coordinator of Fertilizers, Inoculants and Correctives of the Secretariat of Agricultural Defense , Hideraldo Coelho.
